Result photos are retouched: framing, light, protective film and small items removed. The interior is unchanged. Before and during-renovation photos are not retouched.
Dark green interior: how one colour ties the apartment together
Dark green repeats across several rooms: in the kitchen fronts, in the velvet sofa in the living room and on the walls of the WC. The background stays light, and the built-in wardrobes in the hallway and bedroom are white.
As a result the apartment reads as one whole rather than a set of rooms in different styles.
Green kitchen design with handle-less fronts
The kitchen has matte green fronts without handles and a light worktop. The appliances are built in, so the kitchen wall stays calm and uninterrupted.
A dining spot sits by the window, where daylight falls straight onto the table and balances the dark fronts.
Living room with a velvet sofa, track lighting and wall mouldings
A dark green velvet sofa is the centre of the living room. Mouldings decorate the wall, and track lights can be turned to wherever light is needed.
The TV unit is wall-hung, so the floor under it stays free and the room feels lighter.
Floor-to-ceiling built-in wardrobes in the bedroom, hallway and study
The bedroom has an upholstered headboard and a built-in wardrobe up to the ceiling. The hallway has a white floor-to-ceiling wardrobe with black handles, and in the study a built-in shelving wall with closed cabinets below fills the whole wall.
A wardrobe that reaches the ceiling uses the full height of the wall and leaves no top for dust to collect on.
The loggia has been turned into a lounge corner with bean bags and shelving.
Bathroom with marble-look tiles and a dark green WC
The bathroom has grey marble-look tiles and a black shower set. The WC is dark green, with a recessed light line in the ceiling and a wall-hung toilet.

Questions about this project
How much does an apartment interior design project cost in Riga?
An interior design project by Valerija Gelfere starts from 10 € per m². The final price depends on the apartment and the scope of work, and you can get it by describing your apartment.
How much does interior 3D visualisation cost?
3D visualisation starts from 5 € per m². It shows the rooms before the renovation, so colours, furniture and lighting can be changed in advance.
Will a dark green kitchen feel too dark?
Dark fronts can be balanced with a light worktop and daylight. In this apartment the matte green fronts have a light worktop, and the dining spot is by the window.
Why choose kitchen fronts without handles?
Handle-less fronts form one continuous wall, and the kitchen looks calmer. Here they are matte green, and the appliances are built in so nothing breaks the line of the fronts.
Is a floor-to-ceiling built-in wardrobe better than a freestanding one?
A built-in wardrobe up to the ceiling uses the full wall height and leaves no top for dust. This apartment has them in the bedroom and hallway, and the study has a built-in shelving wall with closed cabinets.
How do you turn a loggia into a place to relax?
Soft seating and shelving are usually enough. In this project the loggia has bean bags and shelving, which makes it a separate lounge corner.
Does the designer help with furniture and renovation crews?
Yes, Valerija Gelfere helps choose furniture and decor. The renovation is done by trusted crews and companies she works with regularly, and she supervises the work herself.
